Family Friday: Taking a Break from the Hustle

Second Friday of the month:  Motherhood / Lifestyle

The New Year of the Fire Monkey has just entered last Monday and my whole month is already full of activities. Looking over my calendar makes me feel stressed and excited at the same time. Lots of things to look forward to, really. Between home management, homeschooling the boy, tutoring the girl, and squeezing dates with J, I know I need to carve out some time for myself. Remember: happy wife, happy life. =)

New Year Pedi from Nail It! Salon - S&R Shaw

Before the holiday season, I was already planning on having some pampering session for myself and J.  We've been wanting to have a massage to de-stress and ease our body pains. Too bad for us, it never happened.  For my part, my feet were screaming for a pedicure since November.  I ended up doing it myself.  After new year, I was finally able to book a decent foot spa and pedi from the newly opened Nail It! Salon S&R branch along Shaw.

Foot Spa and Pedi Treat at Cozy Nail Lounge

I think I've only had manicure and pedicure at a salon only twice since I started wearing nail polish.  I do my own nails and usually apply polish when there's an occasion.  Just talking about this makes me feel so deprived of pampering. So I could never say no to a foot spa, and a mani-pedi would be the icing on the cake!

It all started with a tweet I sent to Partricia and a few blogger friends about how we first met exactly one year ago on August 19.  She was so sweet for thinking about us getting together at her friends' nail salon and the plan was set in motion.  I helped with the invites, then several tweets, emails, and a week later, we found ourselves at COZY Nail Lounge in Libis for an afternoon of girl-talk and a much needed pampering.
