Feiyue, Flying Foward

I am not the sporty type when it comes to dressing.  My friends would attest to that.  My rubber shoes are used only when an activity calls for it, like playing badminton, or going to a gym. Admittedly, athletic shoes would not fit nicely with my wardrobe.

After discovering Feiyue early this year, I found their styles to be simple, hip, and sleek... not so athletic-looking - something that could actually work with my usual outfit.  Yesterday, I was finally able to bring home a pair.  Here's a peek of what I got.  Feiyue will also have a pair for the girl once her size is in stock.

Some interesting facts about Feiyue:

• Feiyue (feî-yué) literally means "flying forward" in Chinese
• 1920's - started out as cloth shoe manufactured in Shanghai
• Light and flexible sneakers became known for its undeniable comfort among martial artists and athletes
• 1960's - became best-selling shoes in China
• 2006 - reinvention of the brand by a French team, with new materials, quality and design aesthetic that combines its vintage charm with French and International influences

In short, Feiyue is a modern and innovative shoe line with the best of Asian tradition and French sophistication.

Moving on to the Philippines...

Feiyue, distributed by Pro-Tech 11, was launched in October 2011 and is now available in Rustan's, Rockwell, and Greenhills.

I was able to visit Feiyue's main outlet in Greenhills, San Juan and spotted lots of styles to show you - both for kids and adults, and their new models for their Fall 2013 collection.  It was not easy to choose from all these cool and comfy sneakers, I tell you.  Styles are unisex.  Prices start at PhP 1,950.

Back story:

As I mentioned at the beginning of this post, I'm not into sporty looks, so it took some time to choose the right Feiyue for me.  Some of my choices did not carry my size anymore.  Luckily, Jaycee of Pro-Tech 11, brought out all their sample pairs for their upcoming collection.  There was this one black pair in my size.  I was not even considering black then, but it was in slim style, and looked more "dressy", which I like.  He handed it to me and I'm glad I picked it up 'coz it's perfect!

I took the chance to have this OOTD shot by Jackie earlier - to show you how I wore my Feiyue sneakers.  I'm so happy! :)  It can go with my usual white-top-and-jeans ensemble.  Plus, I can easily slip in and out of these without the need to untie the shoelaces!

For now, I'm the only (lucky!) one who owns a pair of this black beauty in the city (or country).  If you want a pair like this, leave a message... and hope they bring in stocks of this soon! =)

Now that I thought about it, this would be my first new sneakers after almost 10 years! Thank you Feiyue Philippines! =)
