What's Your Water?

It's a simple question but weird to answer.  The type of water we drink has never been a concern for me until I became a mother.  I grew up drinking boiled tap water, and I think we turned out fine and healthy.

There are so many types of water available now, and it's quite confusing, to be honest.  As a mom, I'm responsible for what we eat and drink, even outside the home.  I try to educate myself on finding what's best give to my family, water included.

Going back to the question of water - we don't have a water filter at home, so we consume boiled tap, and order alkaline water since the adults, myself included, are acidic.  But when we're not home and there's no other option but to buy water, I choose Absolute distilled water.  Distilled water is considered the purest form of water that's free of contaminants.  You can learn more about distilled water here.  Since I can't control what water is available outside the home, I know distilled water is my safest bet.

For medical reasons, I also buy Absolute.  Just recently, my girl was prescribed an antibiotic suspension, so I bought Absolute since distilled water was called for to dilute the powder.

There are so many bottled water in the market and there really is no assurance that they are clean and safe.  We just have to trust that the manufacturers are honorable and honest with their claims.  That said, I'm glad I was tapped to do this post because I learned that Absolute Pure Distilled Drinking Water is certified pure and safe by NSF, an international health and safety organization recognized by the World Health Organization.

Absolute Pure Distilled Drinking Water
  • the only brand in the Philippines certified by the National Sanitation Foundation International (NSF)
  • the only bottled water brand in the country that has passed the standards of FDA (Food and Drug Administration), IBWA (International Bottled Water Association), and NSF
  • has undergone thorough purification and distillation process, making it the cleanest water for your baby's and family's safety
So what is NSF?

NSF International helps protect customers by certifying products worldwide and writing internationally-recognized standards for food, water and consumer goods.
As an independent, non-profit, global public health and safety organization, NSF is committed to improving human health and safety worldwide.

Knowing this gave me peace of mind.  I checked the certification of Absolute from NSF and found it here.  That's our guarantee that Absolute distilled drinking water is pure and safe.  In the end, we all need to make informed choices for our family's health and well-being.

How about you, what's your water?

Beauty Chat with Celebrity Mom Judy Ann Santos

There's no denying it -- when you take good care of yourself, it shows. This holds true especially for women who know how to care and treat their skin right.

For most moms, myself included, taking care of our own needs usually fall last on the priority list.  And when it comes to beauty secrets and rituals, I'm usually the one who asks the beauty questions from my friends!

Over a month ago, Johnson’s Baby Milk Bath invited moms to join the live Facebook online chat with their brand ambassador, Judy Ann Santos - Agoncillo, for a chance to ask beauty and parenting questions -- BUT I MISSED IT!  Mommy duties prevented me from participating online, and I also failed to send in my questions.

I took comfort in the fact that I already got my rare chance to ask her personally when my question was picked by Judy Ann herself during the media launch last year. =)  And may I just say, she really looked fresh and flawless up close!

Still, I was curious at how the beauty chat went.  Good thing, everything was captured on video and posted on Johnson's Baby Philippines YouTube page.  I not only learned about how Judy Ann balances her career and parenthood, but her skin and beauty tips as well.

Here are Judy Ann's Tips to Beautiful Skin, which I am already trying to do:
  1. No to Stress - enjoy your bath time
  2. Use Sunscreen - to protect and avoid having sun damaged skin
  3. Make time to rest - get enough sleep to refresh your body; lack of sleep makes skin dry
  4. Feed your skin - take lots of fruits and veggies, healthy foods with vitamins A & E
  5. Drink Up - drink plenty of water to flush out toxins; also eat watery fruits like watermelon, honeydew
I'm thankful that Johnson's chose to sponsor this post because I was reminded of the importance of taking care of myself, especially my skin, since I'm not "young" anymore.  I literally have visibly drier skin lately and it bothered me so much. Aside from regular use of moisturizer and body lotion, I continue to enjoy soaking in the tub with our creamy, moisture-rich Johnson’s Baby Milk Bath.

Of course, my kids will always invade our tub just to have their bubble bath too! If you watch the video below, Judy Ann advised that when stressed, "…try taking a bath, sing while taking a bath, enjoy your bath time…". This is really one of my favorite stress busters and "me time" activity.  A good 10 to 15 minutes in the tub, even just once a week, is all I need to feel fresh and revitalized.

If it's good for babies, it must be good for us moms too, right? With it's milk proteins and Vitamins A and E, Johnson's Baby Milk Bath leaves my skin feeling soft and supple, and smelling fresh with it's mild scent every single time.  Watch supermom Judy Ann as she shares more skin tips for moms on Johnson's Baby Philippines Facebook page.

Judy Ann Santos endorses Johnson's Baby Milk Bath

“Now that I’m already a mom, I find it hard to leave the house and spend time away from my loved ones.  When you’re a mother, you are faced with decisions that will have a huge bearing on your family and children.” - Judy Ann Santos - Agoncillo

Last July 27, I attended the trade and media launch for the new spokesperson of Johnson's Baby Milk Bath -- Judy Ann Santos-Agoncillo.

It's no surprise why Johnson & Johnson's chose this award-winning, box office superstar as their endorser.  Judy Ann, or Juday as she's fondly called, genuinely embraces her role as wife to Ryan, and mom to Yohan and baby Lucho.  This was very evident during her tete-a-tete with host Angel Jacob, who also happens to be Godmother to Juday's daughter.

At the luncheon, Juday revealed that she grew up using J&J products, so she was very honored that her family was chosen to be part of the J&J family as brand ambassadors.  She also shared her mothering style and how she balances her role as mother, wife, and actor.  It is still a learning process for her and stressed that with these changes in her life, she makes sure that family comes first.

During the Q&A portion, I got lucky that my question card was picked and I was able to ask her what's the most memorable milestone of her baby Lucho.  She proudly shared that it was when Lucho started to stand, seeing her baby boy achieve this is a great moment for her and the rest of the family. (That's me asking my question - thanks to Tina for this souvenir snapshot)

I've been using Johnson's Baby Milk Bath on my kids for many years now and I'm glad that Judy Ann mentioned about her pediatrician giving it a seal of approval for her children to use.

One of the most enjoyable bonding moments for me and my kids is during their bath time, either giving them a shower or playing and making bubbles in the bath tub.

The same goes for this lovely celebrity mom who, aside from cooking her family's favorite food, really looks forward to bathing her children.
Johnson’s Baby Milk Bath gently cleanses delicate skin and prevents dryness, which may lead to irritation.  It has 100% more milk proteins and vitamins A and E that gives the necessary nourishment to skin. It's clinically proven mild and has 'no more tears' formula ensuring gentle cleansing for babies until their toddler years, and even for mommies.

I captured this video clip while Judy Ann describes how she genuinely feels about Johnson's Baby Milk Bath, making it a wise choice for discerning moms like her.  I have to agree that after my kids bathe with it, their skin really do feel soft and moisturized.  I used it on myself too a few times before! :)

Johnson's Baby Milk Bath is available at leading supermarkets.
