What's New at Toast Asian Kitchen?

We love Asian food and there are many dining places that we go to for specific cravings, be it Chinese, Korean, Japanese, or Filipino. For Asian fusion, there's only a handful, and TOAST Asian Kitchen & Tasting Room is up on my list of must-visit.

I've shared in detail how I enjoyed my first visit to TOAST here just weeks after they opened. Masarap kasi talaga yung food nila. I was immediately impressed by their well-thought out menu which made for a pleasurable get-together with a couple of my blogger friends. A few weeks later, I even brought my whole family there to celebrate my birthday. This just goes to show how happy and satisfied I was with TOAST.

When I received an invitation to sample their new dishes last month, I did not hesitate to accept. It was a Friday, and I had a scheduled breakfast meeting in Ayala Malls The 30th so the plan was perfect. I confirmed for lunch with my friends.

Again, TOAST Asian Kitchen did not disappoint with their latest offerings, which left quite an impression on me.

For starters, we had KRAZY KANI SALAD (P365) composed of kani tempura over greens and mangoes, drizzled with bibim sauce and Japanese mayo.  I love anything with kani so I enjoyed this refreshing salad with a kani crunch.

YAKITORI plate of Chicken Gizzard (P59), Chicken Softbone (P48), and Chicken Tail (P59). I am not fond of gizzard, but I did like the soft and chewy pwet ng manok, heehee.

SALT AND PEPPER SQUID (P339) can be quite addicting -- it's crunchy battered baby squid with chili-vinegar dip.

KUNG PAO CHICKEN (P375) was not what I expected. It is tasty with a mild kick. They made it Korean-style kaya it lacked the rich and spicy peanut-Szechuan flavor that I was used to.

GALBI SHORT PLATE WITH KIMCHI RICE (P549) -- my favorite dish from the lot!
Tender marbled beef perfectly seasoned and grilled, matched with a big cup of flavorful kimchi rice and sous vide egg. Good for sharing... but I think I can finish this set on my own. ;)  Two thumbs up!

STEAK OROSHI (P699) is a new way to enjoy your steak -- with grated radish and ponzu!
I must admit, I did not expect my steak to have a ginger-y flavor, but it actually worked and made this juicy grilled tenderloin taste fresh and light. It may be an acquired taste, but definitely worth a try.

All that meaty goodness was washed down with their house iced tea and we finished off our lunch with this sweet cold dessert -- MATCHA BRAZO (P165).
A slice of creamy frozen layers of custard and matcha ice cream and brazo meringue. I like!

Suffice to say, we really had a satisfying meal sprinkled with interesting chika in between subo, hahaha! Thank you TOAST Asian Kitchen & Tasting Room for another delectable feast!
