Third Friday of the month: Party / Events
I missed going to blogger events. Since late last year, I have not been as visible in media and blogger functions mainly because we don't have a nanny for the kids anymore. And then there's homeschooling. If you're in a similar set-up, you would understand that it's not easy to just leave them and go. That's why I decided to have this feature under Fun Friday instead of Mom-Finds since being at the launch of K-Palette 1Day Magic was more fun for me than anything else. I wasn't even sure to go when I got the invitation, but it's a blessing that it fell on a holiday, so I excitedly confirmed my attendance.
Last July 29, the new K-Palette 1Day Magic makeup line was launched with "pastels, beauty, and magic" theme, a live makeup demo, and culminated with special magic show. It really felt more like a fancy social party to me than a media event, and that's a good thing.
Just look at this dainty buffet of too-pretty-to-eat colorful sweets!
When I arrived, master illusionist Erik Mana was already making his way around the event hall, doing his jaw-dropping magic tricks with the guests. The expression on K-Palette's makeup artist Sayaka says it all. =)
Aside from a complete set of K-Palette 1Day Magic, I also took home a gift from Erik and Ethel, a pair of limited edition Mana Playing Cards!!! |
Actually, another reason why I wanted to attend was I learned that Erik will be performing. He's the perfect person for the 1Day Magic program. Erik and his wife Ethel are my friends. Our kids went to school together and I'm Godmother to their youngest, so I was really looking forward to seeing them that day and watch him live for the first time. Here I am with Kris, who gamely participated in a card trick when Erik came over to our table. Suffice it to say, we were all floored by his trick here!
These are the stars of the event -- K-Palette 1Day Magic makeup, formulated with beauty essences such as hyaluronic acid and water soluble collagen, and plant extracts.
1DAY MAGIC EYEGLUE LIQUID
SPR : PhP 650.00
Here's one product for chinky eyes like mine. No need for lid surgery! =) This is a dual-purpose eyelid glue and false eyelash glue. It comes with a Y-pusher for the lids. Quick-dry, waterproof formula that's easy to apply.
1DAY MAGIC 3D PALETTE
SRP : PhP895.00
For blush, eye shadow, highlighting and contouring, the 3D palette promises more enhanced facial features. Comes with dual brush heads, four long-wearing soft-colored powder palette. It has a light shimmery finish.
1DAY MAGIC REAL LASTING EYELINER
SPR : PhP 695.00
Another innovation from their popular line of waterproof eyeliners, the tip is 3x thicker than regular brush and it's flat - easy to create thick and thin lines for the eyes.
1DAY MAGIC FIBER MASCARA
SRP : PhP 895.00
One, two, three layers of mascara + fiber + mascara. Beautiful, thick, curled lashes with this duo containing smudge-proof black mascara on one end, and fine cotton fiber on the other. Alternately layered for maximum curl and lash volume.
After the welcome remarks of my friend Cheryl Chua from BeautyBox, she introduced the first part of the event which was the makeup demo. I was excited to see the "magic" behind these products, and the end-result did not disappoint.
K-Palette's in-house Japanese makeup artist Sayaka Nagashima created a cute, fresh and fun kawaii look with the pastel shades, as it should be. The demo was made more entertaining by the repartee of Japanese translator Aisaku Yokogawa with the funny and vivacious host, Karrots Nazareno.
The final kawaii look by K-Palette makeup artist Sayaka Nagashima and the lovely model. Cute and fresh with "big" sparkly eyes! I will try very hard to follow this look with my 1Day Magic set!
A party won't be complete without sumptuous food right? Savory and sweet delights for everyone!
Here's the part that I missed, Erik Mana performing a trick for blogger Shen and K-Palette founder Eiji Kinoshita.
The magic show began as we rushed out to leave. I had to make sure I have photos taken with my friends. Here with Cheryl, Jackie, and Ethel.

With more blogger friends -- Michelle, Nikki and Rowena. Thanks for this "rare" photo of us, Rowena! =) |
I'm so glad I was able to party and have a good time with friends. This was the most fun event I've had in months with my blogger friends. Food, friends, makeup, magic -- that's a recipe for a fun-tastic fete, thanks to K-Palette 1Day Magic!
