Mom-Finds: Cocktail and Formal Dresses from Karimadon

Last Friday of the month:  Shopping / Fashion

Are you looking for an elegant cocktail dress?

Do you need a formal evening gown in a few days?
Are you on a look-out for classic versatile pieces you can dress up for a special occasion?

Look no further -- Karimadon carries an extensive selection of beautiful party dresses for every occasion at friendly prices!

It's actually not easy to find well-made, elegant gowns when you're on a budget. I have that dilemma whenever there are formal events to attend to.  There are very few shops and labels that offer a nice selection of party clothes that won't break the bank.  I rarely have formal events so all the more reason for me not to spend much on evening gowns.

Two weeks ago, I had the pleasure of revisiting a familiar brand of women's apparel.  Together with my blogger friends Tina and Patty, we're the second group of SoMoms to visit a Karimadon store. More on our dress shopping later.

My back story:
Would you believe I've bought several party clothes with my classmates at their first boutique in Greenhills when I was in high school?  Okay, I'm not that old! =)  Karimadon was conveniently located in Virra Mall, quite near our place, so we often hang out and shop there with family and friends. Fact is, there weren't that many boutiques that sell "party" clothes fit for teens back then. Palazzo and square pants, blazers and shoulder pads were all the rage.  So very 80's!

My cousin is friends with the owner and she was the one who told me to check out the shop.  I still remember their quaint store in Virra Mall (now called V-Mall) with posters of a young teen star, Carmina Villaroel, as their image model.  They had mini dresses, slacks, square pants, and hanging printed blouses displayed around the shop. I bought a few separatese to mix and match since I was never into dresses ever since.

By the time I was working, they had several boutiques in malls already. I used to visit their Robinson's Galleria branch when I needed some business attire.

Fast forward to February 13 at Karimadon's flagship store in Glorietta 1:
I was pleasantly surprised to see racks and racks of casual and formal pieces! Now I know where to go when I need formal wear.

"Karimadon maintains it’s own factory that is capable of development, production and alteration to make sure customers get only quality products and efficient services."

A go-to brand for special occasion dresses and gowns, Karimadon offers couture quality apparel at an affordable price.  There are several styles fit for any body type and size. What I also like about Karimadon is that they provide special services such as alterations, by customer's request.

From debut to prom dresses, work wear and party clothes, and coming soon are wedding gowns, you can surely find something in their stores that will suit your needs.

I was pressed for time that day so I was only able to fit a couple of pieces. Here are the clothes that caught my eye as I was browsing through their shop.

Tops and Bottoms that can go from day to night.

Chic structured mini dress with dainty embellishments and back detail.

Picture Audrey Hepburn in this sophisticated cocktail dress with a twist - the perfect LBD, or make a statement with the simple red number.

Lace is love... these dresses are feminine and elegant.

Playing dress-up with these ladies was so much fun! Feeling models lang! =)  There were too many beautiful choices and so little time.  Long gowns, ball gowns, jumpsuits, cocktail dresses... it was really hard to pick our favorites.  After a few changes, we narrowed down our choices to these.

Karimadon surprised us by letting us take home our chosen ensemble! Woohoo!!!  As expected, I ended up with this set - not a dress.  I would have wanted a long gown too, but the practical side of me kicked in so I went with this halter lace top and beige dress pants instead.

Surprise, surprise!
Patty, Tina, and I were ushered in their in-store studio for an instant pictorial with our chosen pieces!

A big thank you to Karen Go and her team for having us, for sharing the story behind Karimadon, and what we can look forward to in the coming months.  You can view more photos they took of us during our store visit here: Karimadon's Blogger Visit - Glorietta 1

UPDATE - How I wore my lace top:
The party last Friday night called for a black/white evening dress. I never owned a black or white party dress. So I decided to wear my black halter top from Karimadon over a maxi skirt, cinched at the waist with a simple dress belt.
I'm happy I got this versatile top which I can dress up or dress down with a pair of pants or skirt. =)
Thanks Jackie Go, for taking this photo.
