Grand Spectacle at Sandalias Festival 2010

One spectacular event happened last weekend -- Sandalias Festival 2010, which delighted sandal lovers like me! Aptly themed “Step Into Some Love”, the Brazilian-style celebration was a fabulous showcase for trendy footwear brands Ipanema, Ipanema Gisele Bündchen (GB), Grendha and Rider.

It was an exciting Sunday afternoon for everyone who went to TriNoma (mall) and joined in the revelry, myself included. An awesome fashion-cum-dance spectacle, fun games to engage the audience, pampering activities for guests, and mounting of the first ever Giant Piñata shower were prepared for the culminating activity of this two-day affair.

Shoe galleries displayed the latest lines from Ipanema, Ipanema GBGrendha, and Rider. Anyone who loves sandals and flip-flops will surely find the perfect sole mate to match your personality and lifestyle.

Admittedly, I was an instant fan of their footwear since I got my first Swarovski-studded T-strap Ipanema GB slippers. :)  What excited me more was seeing a lot of stylish and comfy sandals made for little girls to match mommy's perfect pair! These cuties would certainly be eye-candy for my girl who is already showing signs of becoming a shoe-aholic!

During the program, an awesome performance from Steps Dance Project creatively played out the chic fashion and tropical inspired lifestyle espoused by the said Brazilian footwear brands.

Guests were likewise treated to complimentary services like:  foot massage, nail art, as well as foot or body tattoo.  We were also able to take home souvenir photos from Poof Photobooth. Sporty guests who aced the climbing wall and the gyrating mechanical surf board, Ride N Surf, took home cash prizes and gift certificates.

I would have loved to try all the activities but there was just not enough time for me to enjoy all of them.  Attending this event was made more exciting with a reunion of sorts for myself and fellow mom-bloggers Pehpot, Tetcha, and Chats. It was great catching up with them after we bonded on our "wellness excursion" last month.  That's me down there at the photo booth, with Tetcha and Mrs.Martinez.

After savoring the delicious spread of cocktails catered by Via Mare, I just decided to pamper myself with a foot massage together with my new blogger friends Mrs.Martinez, Ginger and EJ of Manila Reviews. If I stayed a little longer, a mani-pedi from the nail art lounge would have been a perfect finish!  I was envious of the French tips done on my friend Tina. :)))

Sandalias Festival’s show-stopper and most unique attraction was the Giant Piñata, a larger-than-life flip flop filled with goodies and freebies.  It unleashed a great shower of prizes including gift certificates from Ipanema, Ipanema GB, Grendha, Rider and sponsors – Lay Bare, Planet Sports, Nivea Sun, magazines from Summit Media, Orly Nail Lacquer; as well as an air ticket to Boracay from Cebu Pacific Air and a 3D/2N accommodation at Patio Pacific, Fairways and Bluewater, and Discovery Shores. Other sponsors were Us Girls, Essensuals by Toni and Guy, and Terra Wellness Spa. A spectacular ending to this year's festival!

Indeed, the Sandalias Festival 2010 was a huge success. Patxi Elizalde, Managing Director of ELRO Corporation, exclusive distributor of Ipanema, Ipanema GB, Grendha and Rider in the Philippines, was elated with the good turn out of the event. This was their third festival. “Mounting the annual Sandalias Festival is part of our continuous effort to bring our brands closer to the market.  This is our way of establishing an emotional connection with our patrons.  We want them to not only experience our products but also be immersed in the culture and lifestyle that inspire the creation of our footwear.”

Elizalde added that part of their effort in engaging the market is opening a concept store called Bambu, which features all their Brazilian footwear brands. The launch of Bambu TriNoma, the third concept store, coincided with the Sandalias Festival.  Other Bambu outlets are located in Glorietta 4 Makati and Marquee Mall Angeles City, plus a kiosk in Alabang Town Center.

On his final note, Elizalde said that while Sandalias Festival is their banner event, patrons could look forward to more exciting activities and of course, more stylish products from Ipanema, Ipanema GB, Grendha and Rider in the near future.
