Good Skin Foods and Johnson's Baby Milk for Nourished Skin

When it comes to skin care, it's all about intensive, moisture-rich and anti-aging products for me.  I'm pushing forty already so I also try to indulge in occasional facials and body treatments, and learn more about the right foods that will help promote healthier, younger-looking skin.

Some weeks ago, Johnson's Baby Milk invited me to a Mom's Nourishing Spa at Watson's-SM Makati.  They had me at "spa".  Besides, we've been using Johnson's Baby Milk Bath for the longest time, to the point that the kids refuse to use soap bars and prefer liquid soap like the Milk Bath.  So, off I went.

Here's why we continue to use Johnson's Baby Milk Bath:
  • Mild and gentle
    • "No more tears" formula
    • Good and safe for kids, great for mom's skin too
  • Has double the amount of natural milk protein, plus Vitamin A & E for nourished skin
  • Leaves skin supple, soft, smooth
    • Non-drying, non-irritating
    • Baby-fresh scent
Bottles were gifts from Johnson's; Refill pack I bought from the supermaket

That said, I was really looking forward to the Mom's Nourishing Spa event held last October 12, but I honestly did not know what to expect when I arrived.

The event was well-attended and each blogger received a guest tag and stamp card which indicates the different activities we can try, plus watch a special demo by a guest chef.  I'm thankful that I was tapped for this feature so I can share with you the many ways we can nourish our skin.  But before that, let me give you a glimpse of what transpired that day:

After registration, we had our souvenir portraits and began filling out our stamp cards.
With my mom-blogger-event-buddy Rowena

From the photo booth, we went on to sample yummy treats here at the skin food counter.  Too bad I was not able to get my serving of frozen yogurt as I was too busy taking photos and eating savory cocktails being served to us while walking around, heehee!

Behind the food counter was the wash area and lounge where we were also treated to a soothing hand massage with the rich Milk Lotion by these friendly Johnson's Baby Milk therapists.

The program began shortly after we finished the rounds and had our stamp card filled.  The lovely host that day was expectant mom/TV host Ria Tanjuatco-Trillo with chef Rosebud, where they talked about the many types of food that's good for our skin.

We then watched chef Rosebud Gutierrez prepare a simple mango-cucumber salad recipe that's rich in vitamins and nutrients that our skin needs.  I'm gonna try to make this at home.

8 GOOD SKIN FOODS
  1. Chocolates - rich in flavonoids to help protect skin against the sun
  2. Eggs - high in protein which helps repair damaged skin cells
  3. Peanut Butter - high in Vitamin E and protein for youthful-looking skin
  4. Red Wine - one glass is high in antioxidants that help prevent sagging skin
  5. Yogurt - contains zinc that helps reduce pores, to give a more even skin tone
  6. Green Tea - a cup or two a daw can help flush out toxins that dull the skin
  7. Coffee - full of antioxidants that help rid of dead cells
  8. Nuts - walnuts and almonds in particular are rich in Vitamin E that locks in moisture

This whole exercise introduced me to these good skin foods which I can include in my diet since healthy skin starts from within.  The Mom's Nourishing Spa was a brief but well thought-out affair dedicated to moms like me who all deserve some skin pampering with the help of Johnson's Baby Milk.

Personally, I make a conscious effort to drink 6 to 8 glasses of water, try to sleep before 12mn, and use moisturizing and vitamin-enriched products like Johnson's Baby Milk to help me achieve healthier, youthful-looking skin that's soft and smooth, just like baby’s!
