Handcrafted Home Décor and Gifts at Chrysara NEST Manila

I am constantly on the look-out for interesting home accents and décor for my home.  Our house is still a work in progress even after our move five years ago.  We went for modern Asian-inspired accessories and furniture for the interior design.  We like items that are "kid-friendly", not too expensive, good quality, and could make nice conversation pieces. Hopefully, we can decorate and add more accessories around the house next year.
A few weeks ago, I got the chance to visit the newly-opened Chrysara NEST - a Pampanga-based export company that produces fine handcrafted décor, unique gift items, and home furnishings for almost 30 years.  A family-owned and managed home decor company headed by Alice Reyes, Chrysara (named after her children, Chris and Sara) creates items that showcase Filipino craftsmanship.  Some of their collections were even featured in high-end international boutiques, magazines, and catalogs like Restoration Hardware and Wisteria.

Their Manila shop is located in a quiet residential neighborhood in Mandaluyong City.  As soon as I enter the store, I didn't know where to start looking.  I was impressed by the unique designs and quality finish of each item, many of which were given that aged, antique finish.  Their 2-story retail store is just a stone's throw away from my place, so I'm all the more excited to bring my husband there once we've decided on re-decorating and adding finishing touches to our sparse interiors.

One of the first things that caught my eye was this Christmas icon.  Yuletide season is here so it's inspiring to decorate and add more items like Santa here, which has a small drawer at the skirt. Useful and decorative.

Chrysara NEST Manila carries more Christmas items like belens, tree ornaments, angels, and so many unique gift items such as decorative boxes, candleholders, bookends, and jewelry holders.  Materials are mostly made of wood, MDF, and resin.

Warning: This post is photo-heavy.

There were just too many beautiful and striking pieces that made it really hard for me to edit this post! =)   I'll just take you on a photo tour for some eye candy.  =)

Here are some eye-catching pieces from the wide range of beautifully crafted products from Chrysara NEST.  I wish to own one of the mirrors and some oriental accents soon!

Double duty, this unique table top structure (top, right) opens up as a triptych featuring the nativity scene (belen).

Unique Victorian-themed tree ornaments

Mirror, mirror, on the wall...

This is such a lovely stairwell, with a wall full of decorative vintage-looking mirrors.

I am loving these sunburst and "infinity" style mirrors.

This oriental corner pulled me in with it's richly colored pieces.

Any of these items will fit perfectly in our home.

Go nautical.  These items spell fun!

Cute décor for a boy's or hobby room, even for a beach house or seafood restaurants!

The cute Fat Man and Fat Lady - open their towels to reveal a secret compartment.

Get that countryside feel.

This hen can keep a surprise or treasure under her wing.

For the dog lovers.

If vintage toys are your thing, bring home these babies.

These elegant silhouettes on frames and bookends add a European vibe to a room or wall - a library or powder room, perhaps?

Something quirky and different... how about specs and shoe molds...

or these oddly beautiful figurines and jewelry holder.

Add whimsy to a quiet corner or table with these decorative lamps...

...or these harlequin-themed accents and bookends for your shelves.

Chrysara also offers home furnishings like this woven chair, and intricately carved religious icons.

What a lovely tour! I want so many stuff from this store!
Check out Chrysara NEST and you'll surely find items and wonderful collectibles for the home, and make for a unique and memorable Christmas present - for your favorite aunt, sister, or balikbayan friends and relatives.
