Winning Recipes Re-imagined by Anchor Home Chefs

I enjoy cooking and re-working simple dishes from time to time.  Since I am a home cook, I am challenged to come up with good-tasting and healthy meals for my family.  On some days, even left-overs need a "makeover", and I have to be creative with the ingredients at hand.

The recent Anchor Home Chef finals night I've attended inspired me to try and re-create ordinary dishes into something more special.  I've always used Anchor Butter in many of my cooked meals and baked goods, and I'm excited to try their Culinary Cream and Cream Cheese after watching the home chefs present their Recipes Re-imagined.

That was the challenge to the home chefs by Anchor. During the event, the 6 winners were presented and they did a cooking demo of their winning dishes.  You'll see the winning recipes below.

As I arrived at the finals night, guests were also challenged to re-imagine this cake-in-a-jar using these ingredients made with Anchor.  This made the evening more exciting for everyone!

The Anchor Home Chef Recipes Re-imagined challenge was conducted by chef Jonas Ng as he visited the 6 winners at their homes to see how they prepared their re-imagined recipes.  He was joined by three other distinguished chefs during the finals night to choose the top winner.
Chefs Ryan Abejuela, Pauline Lagdameo, and Christa Mendiola

We were served a 6-course dinner from all dishes of the winners.  Suffice to say, they were all creatively executed with their favorite Anchor dairy products and tastes really good!

Here are the re-imagined recipes that anyone can prepare and enjoy at home:

From ham sandwich to Ham & Cheese Roll

From simple lumpia to Breakfast Spring Rolls

From sautéed vegetables to Creamy Binagoongang Eggplant

From ginataang manok to Chicken Crab Combo in Coco Milk

From maja blanca to Pinoy Panna Cotta

From coffee to Caramel Macchiato Ice Cream

Remember the guest challenge with the cake-in-a-jar?  Well... I won! =)

I simply layered the butter cakes with coconut buttercream, toasted coconut, coconut cream, caramel drizzle, and salted egg cream cheese.  A luscious dessert or snack in a jar!

The ultimate winner of the Anchor Home Chef Recipes Re-imagined is Michiko Halili and her super creamy, egg-less, homemade Caramel Macchiato Ice Cream! I would definitely try to make it at home, I love it!

Congratulations to all the Anchor home chefs winners - you were amazing and inspiring to home cooks like me!
