Up and Away on the Flying Trapeze

I never imagined I would be able to do flying trapeze. I wasn't even aware there's a rig here in the metro until recently. If I wasn't doing pilates, baka hindi ko kinaya ito, hehehe. But I did suspension pilates, and I know I can hang and do inversions, so I literally took the leap and went for it.  Together with my pilates buddies and our kids, we booked a private class last week and had a nerve-wracking and exhilarating experience.

My curiosity started when I got likes from @trapezeph on some of my Instagram posts. I checked out their profile page and saw it was legit. A few more likes later, I checked them out again and was tempted to try it for myself. Na-miss ko na rin kasi ang suspension pilates.

The thrill-seeker in me kicked in. I think nag-mana sakin si M. When I told her about it, she got excited. Mahilig din kasi siya mag tumbling and suspend sa hoops in their school playground. I even posted our kalokohan here, hehe. So, I inquired about their rates and schedules last month. Naturally, I asked my #pilatessquad if any of them are interested to try trapeze. The more the merrier!

Last April 5, we finally went to Flying Trapeze Philippines for a private class (for 10 pax). We were 4 adults and 6 kids.

Before you book, be sure you are willing and able, physically and mentally.  =)  I booked online and paid via PayPal. Easy peasy.

No experience required.  Open to everyone from age 6 and up.

They have discount for advanced booking. Also, if you are a group of 10 (even if you are only 8, but you pay for 10 pax) you can block off the slot to make it a private class. My two nieces also joined us that day so we eventually filled the 10 slots.

Once you are booked and paid, no refund even if you back out during your class.

What to expect from Flying Trapeze:
  • Full sized rig, with professional quality safety equipment - net, lines and belts
  • Features a practice bar, calisthenics bar, trampoline
  • Friendly, helpful and highly skilled coaches/instructors
  • First aid available -- expect some scratches, blisters, etc.
  • Open area with tent and chairs for -- I did not see any toilet or changing room
  • Briefing and trial on the practice bar with instructors
  • Arrive at least 15 minutes before your slot
  • Bring towel and water  -- I suggest you eat at least 1 hour before you arrive
  • Wear comfortable (fitted) athletic attire

Here are outtakes from our first flying trapeze experience!

M at the practice bar trying the straddle.

We're 25 feet up!

Listen, listen, listen.
The coaches will guide you through each and every step, including proper form to swing, knee hang, to correct landing and dismount.

Watch M in action!

She's fearless!

It's my turn to swing and hang! :p

What a rush! Look at my expression, hahahaha!

I shared this slide with video clip of my Knee Hang Backflip over at my IG page (tap photo)

Something different, daring, fun and exciting... no regrets! Parang na-alog yung buong katawan ko and it took a couple of days to recover. But it was an awesome experience for me. We had a blast! M is already asking me to go back!

Level up na kami from pilates, woohoo! We did it guys! Take 2?
