Honey Stars and Moons for Breakfast

Hey, there are moons!
The girl is right - moons joined one of her favorite cereals!

As the saying goes - "Eat breakfast like a king, lunch like a prince, and dinner like a pauper." Breakfast is the most important meal of the day.  For my picky eaters, preparing even the simplest meal should pack a punch. It has to be nutritious, and fun for them to eat as well.

What we eat for breakfast:
  • Milk
  • Coffee
  • Egg
  • Sausage / bacon / meatloaf / corned beef
  • Bread, with our favorite spreads
  • Oatmeal
  • Cereals
Among our staple breakfast food, cereals offer the most variety.  We have several favorites, including Honey Stars, and Honey Gold.  What we like about NestlÄ“ breakfast cereals, aside from being delicious, is they're made with whole grain. Whole grain is a good source of nutrients like carbs, B vitamins, and iron, providing the energy boost we all need in the morning, and sustaining us 'til our next meal.

I just bought a regular box of Honey Gold flakes, then came these two jumbo Econo Packs of Koko Krunch and Honey Stars, a surprise from NestlÄ“ for the whole family! I'm ticking off cereals from my grocery list in the next two weeks, yey!!! =)

We're a few weeks away from school opening and this is definitely one of the easiest to prepare every morning.  Cereals are perfect to nibble on too, so when the kids request for this as snack, I include a small container with their favorite cereals to bring to school, and on the road.  A great alternative to chips and cookies.

Here's my girl, enjoying her yummy breakfast in bed on a Sunday morning.  Her choice is a bowl of Honey Stars, and she's thrilled to find moons in there too! =)

Do you eat breakfast cereals? What's your favorite?
