Shop and Talk About #momtuition at Expo Mom

Mother's instincts, mom's intuition, gut-feel, sixth sense.  These can mean the same thing.  We all have it, but I believe mothers have the strongest intuition especially when it comes to our children.  This year's EXPO MOM will feature experts that will teach moms to develop this gift and take full advantage of it.

Expo Mom 2013 is not just going to be an exciting marketplace for great finds for moms and kids, but will also be a venue for mothers to connect with other moms about their intuitive experiences and be reminded to trust their inner voice -- look inside our hearts and trust our instincts.

All my life, most of the major decisions I have made are based on my gut-feel, my intuition.  I know, sometimes, it's a risk since logic cannot explain it, and cannot be quantified or measured.  But it proved me right in the end.  I've shared a personal experience here about listening to my intuition when my boy was feeling troubled, and it paid off.

A research study published in The Lancet, one of the world’s oldest and most respected general medical journals, suggests that doctors should take mother’s instinct into serious consideration when treating sick kids.  Judith Orloff, M.D., psychiatrist and author of the New York Times bestseller “Second Sight,” supports this statement and says that in her profession, she has seen intuition at work many times, especially among mothers.  Intimately intertwined for nine months, mother and child form a unique bond, allowing the former to tap into the latter’s thoughts and feelings intuitively.

“Today’s moms have access to so many sources of information that we sometimes forget that we are gifted with a very powerful sense—our instinct. They say all women are born with such an instinct, but I believe that moms have a heightened sense since we give so much care and nurturing love to our family and children and are so connected to them. We want to remind moms about this “superpower” and this is why we chose ‘mothers’ instinct’ or we call it MOMTUITION as our theme for this year’s EXPO MOM,” says Janice Villanueva, Mommy Mundo founder and Expo Mom organizer.

What I like about this annual expo, aside from the shopping part, is it's conscious effort to provide simple conveniences and mom-friendly amenities such as breastfeeding lounge, a diaper changing area, plus a play area for young kids!

Aside from enlightening talks and entertaining activities for moms and moms-to-be, you can still expect Expo Mom’s trademark mompreneur market.  Shop from wide range of products and services from the booths of mom-preneurs like Mama Baby Love, Mothering Earthlings, Paper Chic Studio, Manila Baby Shop, Maga's Kitchen, Mommy Matters, and Nurture Nook

Shameless plug -- Green Sproutlets, my sis-in-law's own brand of organic bamboo-cotton apparel for babies and kids, will be available at Mothering Earthlings' booth #6!

Block your calendars for this weekend!
