Freezines: Turista, Baking Press & Northern Living

I have to admit, I don't really take time to sit down and read newspapers and magazines anymore especially when almost everything I need is right at my fingertips. With just a click of a button, information comes streaming down our monitors -- for free!

What got me reading print these days, aside from children's story books, are these free mags, a.k.a. "freezines" I've received from the mail recently.  Published by Hinge Inquirer Publications (HIP), Turista, Northern Living and Baking Press definitely fit my domesticated yet busy lifestyle.

Their March issues were so timely because I was really on the look-out for summer destinations and current happenings around the city where I can bring the kids, discover new dishes, and hip spots to check out.

We've already made plans to a nearby destination, and so I'm looking forward to traveling around our islands in the coming summers with their 10 Must-See Places in the Philippines. I've already got my sights on Misibis Bay in Albay, El Nido in Palawan, tour of Bohol, and an escape to Fundacion Pacita in Batanes!

I also liked their summer delights spread from Baking Press, a pull-out from F&B World magazine.  The kids will surely have fun making these homemade popsicles. I, on the other hand, would love to try Sebastian's ice cream!

Speaking of summer, I am still looking for that "perfect-for-me" swimwear.  I spotted that paisley-printed maillot down there...gotta check it out!  And while browsing through the NL issue, I can't believe there are so many amazing places to see and dine in our area!
Northern Living - March 2011
I really appreciated the many features of HIP's compact, yet fully-loaded magazines as they covered a host of very informative and delightful topics that suit my varied interests.  It's pretty convenient to bring along too. I can't wait for the coming issues!
